Salt Production is an ancient activity of the Western Sicily. The Salt Way starts in Trapani and procede to Marsala. Let yourself be guided by our expert guide to discover Marsala Salt pans, in the unreal landscape of the Lagoon with the ancient windmills, a natural reserve with an unspoiled environment.

After the salt pans we go to find out the outstanding wine in the Sicilian wine capital of Sicily, Marsala, which gives the name to the world-famous wine. We visit one of the best wineries in Sicily and the oldest of the area with a unique and impressive cellar.

Our last stop is the lovely fisher village Castellammare del golfo, famous for its old big norman castle, to get a special local dessert and take a picture from a spectacular panoramic photo point.

Wine & Salt tour schedule

• 9:15 am – Departure from your hotel in Palermo city center.
• 10:45 am – Arrival at the Marsala lagoon and guided tour at the Museum of Salt and the salt pans
• 12:30 am – Visit of Marsala old town and free time for lunch, clients choice with recommended places to go according to your preference.

Optional: lunch included in a local restaurant with different budget options, from € 20 to € 70 pp.

• 2:30 pm – Guided tour at the historical sicilian winery Florio. Visit lasts 1,5 hours and includes 4 Sicilian wines tasting: 1 white wine, 1 red wine, 2 Marsala wines with small food tasting
• 3:45 pm – Departure from Marsala
• 5:00 pm – Arrival in the lovely fisher village of Castellammare del Golfo and Cassatelle dessert tasting in the most popular bar of Trapani area, photo point in Castellammare for a panoramic picture.
• 5:30 pm – Departure from Castellammare
• 6:15 pm – Arrival at the hotel in Palermo.
